Cognitively Overloaded – linguists presented research on the language of disinformation media at an international conference in Sweden

Michal Místecký and Xinying Chen presented the results of linguistic research on disinformation texts at a conference in Örebro, Sweden. In their presentation entitled “Cognitively Overloaded: A Stylometric Perspective of Czech Anti-Establishment Media Discourse”, they showed how quantitative linguistics and stylometry can be used to reveal the specifics of the discourse of Czech anti-establishment media. During the conference, they also had the opportunity to discuss their findings with experts from various fields who address the issue of disinformation from different perspectives. The conference Mis(sing) Information Truth Matters took place on 9–10 December 2025 at Örebro University. The research is being carried out as part of the project Biography of Fake News with a Touch of AI: A Dangerous Phenomenon through the Prism of Modern Human Sciences (CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008724).
