Presentation of the project at the international conference in Marbella, Spain
The progress of the project Biography of Fake News with a Touch of AI: Dangerous Phenomenon through the Prism of Modern Human Science (CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008724) was presented by doc. RNDr. Petra Murinová, Ph.D. from the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling, University of Ostrava, at the international conference FCTA 2025 (International Conference on Fuzzy Computation Theory and Applications), held on 22–24 October 2025 in Marbella, Spain, as part of the IJCCI – International Joint Conference on Computational Intelligence.
In her presentation "Linguistic Interpretation of Natural Data Using Intermediate Quantifiers Related to Graded Cube of Opposition", co-authored by Mgr. Karel Fiala, she introduced an original approach to analyzing natural data through linguistic expressions and fuzzy logic, which enables the mathematical representation and interpretation of uncertainty inherent in natural language. The authors demonstrated how so-called intermediate quantifiers (e.g., "most", "several", "almost all") can be used to interpret datasets in a way consistent with human reasoning.
This research, which bridges artificial intelligence, linguistics, and logic, contributes to a deeper understanding of how people perceive and process information—an aspect that is essential for studying the phenomenon of disinformation.
